Why Rebulican Governments and Heavy Metal Are Good For Each Other.

Why Rebublican Governments and Heavy Metal Are Good For Each Other.

As some of you know, I have been doing a history of metal on OuttaMyndX profile. This article is something I have brooding over for a while and one Iam finally proceeding to write. You may agree or disagree but this is the truth, for those of you who were and are being taught American History out of revised text books please ask your older siblings, mother or father who love and support metal to verify the truth for you.

In Birmingham England in 1969 the birth of heavy metal occurred with bands such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. This was also the very year Richard Nixon (R) took his first term in the American presidency. The more displeasure the Nixon administration disclosed to the public regarding our beloved music, the more more the youth devoured it. They consumed it in rabbid fshion. Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin began to chart on Billboard. Purple were in a class all their own and were selling out every venue. Alice Cooper became the anti-metal hero and Kiss had a whole army enlisting.

Nixon gets impeached and is replaced by Gerald Ford (Replublican). During the Ford administration we saw the rise of Judas Priest and AC/DC. While punk and disco were the flavour of the moment and a peanut farmer by the name of Jimmy Carter (Democrat) was due to become president, it seemed that metal was on its way out. This was only compounded by the deaths of John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) and Bon Scott of (AC/DC). It appeared that metal was all but done. However, that would change in 1979-1980.

- The Dawn OF METALLIC Bliss-

As the 1970's were coming to their conclusion so were the democrats as far as the presidency. During their time we wore bored with BLEEP like disco and punk. Just as a new great American in the form of Ronald Reagen was sworn into office on January, 20th, 1980 a. wind of change was taking place in the UK, with the New 'WAVE OF BRITISH METAL. Metal recieved new life. By 1980 a glorious shift in the paradigm was taking place. AC/DC were back with (Back in Black) that is now working towards 45 million plus copies. Judas Priest released the phenom known as (British Steel). Iron Maiden releases (Killers) and Def Leppard releases a. monster called (On Through The Night). 1980 would serve as the preface of a series of metallic chapters to be written in that decade. 1983 rolled around and metal began to take names and kick butt. Def Leppard began this shot when 'Photograph' appeared as the first ever official metal video on MTV. After that Motley Crue shows up with 'Looks that Kill and Quiet Riot with 'Metal Health. After that a massive swarm of bands showed up on MTV and in major market radio.

January, 20th, 1984 Ronald Reagen was sworn in for a second time. This was the year Twisted Sister wrote and released the huge anthem 'Were not gonna take it'. A band by the Scorpions surfaced with one of my all time favourites in 'Rock you Like A Hurricane.' Van Halen also charted at number # 1 with both a record and single in Jump from 1984. The latter part of the 1985 had heavy metal in such demand that MTV came out Head bangers Ball, a 3 hour bonanza of nothing but metal and a nationally syndicated radio network called ZRock out of Dallas Texas began to show up in many major cities in the us and Canada,

January 20th, 1988 comes around and George Bush # 41 (Republican) takes office. This was the year heavy metal finally had its own award given at the grammy ceremony. Yeah, I know Metallica were screwed, however that category finally existed. It was also the year that gaves the Head bangers Ball tour. That was a great year and tour, I know I went and was there.

In 1989 we saw the results of a (Republican) government. The fall of (The Iron Curtain), occurred, the Soviet Union collapsed and the Moscow Peace Festival went down in Moscow, Russia. This was also titled (The Make A Difference Foundation). This heavy metal set included Scorpions, Ozzy, Zakk Wylde, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Doro Pesch and many others including Skid Row.

As 1991-1992 rolled around and a (Democrat) by Bill Clinton became president, metal once again took a hit, spikes, leather and hair were replaced by plaid, the 'grungewhores' were able to run HeadBangers Ball of and replaced it with the BLEEP (Superock) show.and a senseless f@#* named Cobain made some of the most monotonous, depressing BLEEP that most of us were not able to understand. For out the rest of the 1990's metal and its followers were ruduced to buying more albums instead of enjoying music on the radio. Those albums soon went from a domestic to an import due to the scenes infrastructure. We also had to travel more to see shows that once were a regular occurrence in our local markets. ZRock finally folded. Do not get me wrong, Pantera, Tool, White Zombie and Dream Threaten were the exceptions to the rule, It was like, if you did not live in Europe and Japan in the 1990's where metal really never left their landscapes, you were somewhat screwed. In the late 1990's music was BLEEP, pop, boy bands and little 'Lolita' types were the trend.

In 2000 while Bill Clinton (Democrat) was leaving office and George W Bush (Republican) was sworn in, we started to, once again, began to see metal re-surface. In 2001 MTV somewhat got their damn head's screwed on straight by bringing back the Head bangers Ball, FUSETV comes up with a program called (URANIUM), VH1 Classic begins to devote whole weeks and months to nothing but heavy metal and hard rock. Social networking sites on the internet such as Myspace and Facebook experience an explosion of metal oriented profiles. 0ZZFest becomes a summer time staple, reunions like David Lee Roth with Van Halen and Ronnie James Dio with Black Sabbath happen. Since 2000 and George W. Bush, metal once again has a great opprotunity to thrive,

We can clearly see that heavy metal always thrives when America has a (Republican) for president . When a (Democrat) is in office metal bombs, You vote for who you want this year. I will vote who I want. Metal, however is not the only reason I vote (Republican). Iam voting John McCain in 2008. Metal will thrive and Cindy McCain will be a HOTT (First Lady).
